The Print as Monument Reading Circle will explore methods of reading, guiding and publishing practices as form of monument making and commemoration.  The discussion will be linked to an application of MemoryGames card game and working through Marianne Hirsch’s notions of post-memory.

How is it possible to remember the Shoah if the number of contemporary witnesses are continuously declining and the traces of history are increasingly fading for younger generations? MemoryGames is dedicated to this issue,  serving as a „memory tool“ that promotes active dialogical commemoration between people of various ages and with different experiences.

Nina Prader is an artist, arts and culture writer and researcher, specialising in alternative media and publishing practices. She is also an art mediator at the Jewish Museum Berlin. Under the label Lady Liberty Press she publishes  printed matters, content & monuments. She received her MA in Critical Studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, Austria, and previously studied at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston/ Tufts University and at the Slade in London/UCL. Since 2014, she has been facilitating MemoryGames, a tool to build conversational monuments now.
